Citizens of following countries and territories do not need a visa to enter Zambia for up to 90 days as tourists or 30 days for business:
Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Botswana, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Dominica, Fiji, Gibraltar, Grenada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Montserrat, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Romania, Saint Helena, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Seychelles, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu and Zimbabwe. Holders of the following British passports: British Overseas Territories Citizens, British Citizens: Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey. Holders of the following New Zealand passports: Cook Islands nationals, Niue residents and Tokelau residents Holders of the following Australian passports: Norfolk Island residents.

ZAMBIA visas take 3 working days to issue in the embassy & is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

Required by all except those as noted above and those continuing their journey to another country by the same or first connecting aircraft within 24 hours providing holding confirmed onward tickets and documents for their onward journey & not leaving the airport. Currently not available to nationals of: Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Chile, China (Peoples Republic), Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Greece, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea (Rep of), India, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Iran, Lebanon, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Turkey & the UAE.

A visa is required for an overnight stop 


There are currently no compulsory vaccinations required.

Recommended immunisations: Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Meningitis, Polio, TB, Tetanus, Typhoid & Yellow Fever.

Risks: Malaria exists all year throughout the country. Rabies. 


In lowland areas there is no real cool season but with a hotter period between Oct-Feb which is also the rainy season. In the upland areas temperatures are lower. In the higher regions frost is not uncommon especially during the dry period between Apr-Aug. Rainfall mainly occurs during Oct-Mar and is at its height between Dec-Feb.
