Turkish e-visas can be obtained prior to arrival or on arrival (for a higher cost). Citizens of these countries are eligible to apply for a multiple entry e-Visa which allows stays of up to 90 days (unless otherwise stated); Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Canada, China, Croatia, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Greek Cypriot Administration, East Timor (single entry only), Fiji (single entry only), Grenada, Haiti, Hong Kong (BN(O)), Indonesia (single entry only), Iraq (single entry only)*, Ireland, Jamaica, Kuwait, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius (single entry only), Mexico (single entry only), Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Suriname(single entry only), Taiwan (single entry only), United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom & United States.
* Must enter via Istanbul Atatürk, Sabiha Gökçen, Ankara Esenboða, Adana Þakirpaþa, Gaziantep or Antalya airports or through the Habur Land Border Gate. Otherwise e-Visa is conditional and holder must also have an OECD visa.
Citizens of the following countries and territories are also eligible, under certain conditions, to apply for a single entry e-Visa on which they can stay for up to 30 days. The conditions being;
a) all except citizens of Gabon, Namibia and Zambia, must hold a valid visa or residence from one of the OECD (except electronic visas) or Schengen countries. Egyptian citizens who are under 20 or over 45 years old do not need to fulfill this requirement.
b) all except citizens of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Pakistan and Philippines must hold a return with Turkish Airlines or Pegasus Airlines.
c) must hold a hotel reservation and adequate financial means (US$50 per day).

Required by all except those continuing their journey within 24 hrs to a third country by the same or first connecting flight, providing they hold confirmed onward tickets and do not leave the airport.
There are currently no compulsory vaccinations required.

Risks: Malaria exists from Mar-Nov mainly in the south eastern part of the country and in Cukurova & Amikova Plain. There is no risk in main tourist areas in the west & south west. Rabies.
The interior of the country has low rainfall but very cold winters & hot summers. Winter rainfall usually falls as snow especially towards the east where it may lie for three or four months. The coastal areas have milder winters with warm summers. The Black Sea coast is a little colder in winter than on the southern and western coasts and has some rain throughout the year. Summers are warm and humid. The Aegean and Mediterranean coasts have hot, dry summers and a midwinter rainy season

Hotel Classification in Turkey: All accommodation in Turkey is officially licensed, inspected and classified by the Ministry of Culture & Tourism or by the relevant local authority. Hotels are graded in the usual way from 1 star up to 5 star. Motels and holiday villages are graded either 1st or 2nd class. Apartments, apart-hotels, pensions and inns are not graded but still have to meet government licensing requirements.
