QATAR VISAS:

The following nationals DO NOT require a visa:
Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE & nationals of Nigeria and Yemen holding a residence permit issued by a GCC Member State, EU Member State Australia or the USA which is valid for at least 6 months.

Returning alien residents do not require a visa provided holding a valid Residence Permit stamped in their passports. If the stay abroad exceeds 6 months, the Residence Permit is automatically invalidated and entry is only allowed with official approval from immigration.

If already holding a visa issued by the Sultanate of Oman, a separate visa is not required. The holder of such a visa may enter either of the 2 countries first but may not depart to a third country. 

Visas valid for 1 month can be issued upon arrival for a fee to:
Holders of Hong Kong (SAR China passports) & nationals of: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, British (passports endorsed "British Citizen"), Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland (Rep of), Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA & Vatican City.

For tourist stays of up to 1 month by nationals of Belarus providing holding a credit card or at least USD 1,000 and a return ticket or have either a hotel reservation or staying with an alien resident of Qatar.

For stays of up to 14 days to nationals of Turkey providing holding a credit card or at least USD 1,000 and a return ticket or have either a hotel reservation or staying with an alien resident of Qatar.

QATAR TRANSIT VISAS:

Required by all except those as noted above and those continuing their journey within 8 hours to a third country by the same or first connecting flight, providing they hold confirmed onward tickets and do not leave the airport

QATAR HEALTH:

There are currently no compulsory vaccinations required.

Recommended immunisations: Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Polio, TB, Tetanus & Typhoid.

Risks: Rabies is confined to border areas.

Hints in Qatar: Most business executives speak English. Business cards to have Arabic translation on reverse side. Muslim conventions apply. At meetings it is polite to drink coffee when offered. It is the convention to use the right and not the left hand when shaking hands and passing or receiving anything. Muslim prayers are held 5 times per day. Smoking is generally accepted. When sitting cross-legged on sofas or cushions, soles of the feet should be facing the floor and not shown. Alcohol is permitted within hotel premises
Tipping in Qatar: When there is no service charge, tips around 10% are appreciated. Tips are not customary for taxis
