NIGERIA TRANSIT VISAS:

Required by all except those as noted above and those continuing their journey within 24 hours to a third country by the same or first connecting flight, providing they hold confirmed onward tickets and do not leave the airport

NIGERIA HEALTH:

Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas. Infants under 1 year are exempt.

Recommended immunisations: Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Meningitis, Polio, TB, Tetanus, Typhoid & Yellow Fever.

Risks: Malaria exists all year throughout the country. Rabies.

NIGERIA WEATHER:

Nigeria has a wet and dry season. The dry season usually lasts from Nov-Mar and the rainy season from Apr-Oct. The wettest area is that near the coast whilst the driest regions are those farthest north and inland. The temperatures are high but seldom rise above 32°C on the coast where humidity can be as high as 95%. In the drier north the average temperature is 34-44 and extremities of temperature sometimes range between 12-36°C

Hints in Nigeria: Women should dress conventionally. Business is mostly conducted in English. Confirm business organisations status before entering into firm contracts. On social occasions be punctual and dress as for business meetings unless otherwise indicated. The minimum drinking age is 18 years
Tipping in Nigeria: A service charge is usually added to restaurant & hotel bills. Otherwise tips are around 10%. No tips for taxis, fares should be agreed in advance. The custom of giving `dash' or tips for other commercial services, although officially discouraged, is widespread
