MALAWI TRANSIT VISAS:

Required by all except those as noted above and those continuing their journey to a third country by the same or first connecting aircraft within 24 hours, provided holding tickets & documentation for next destination (except nationals of: Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Rep, Egypt, Georgia, Hungary, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea (North), Korea (South), Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Oman, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam & Yemen

Nationals of the above countries may obtain a (transit) visa issued prior to arrival in Malawi upon arrival in Malawi upon application to the Immigration Department P.O. Box 331, Blantyre or through any Malawi Embassy aboard

MALAWI HEALTH:

Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas. 

Recommended immunisations: Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Meningitis, Polio, TB, Tetanus & Typhoid.

Risks: Malaria exists all year throughout the country. Rabies.

MALAWI WEATHER:

Lower regions have high temperatures throughout the year with the rainy season between Nov-Mar. In the mountain areas conditions are cooler and more pleasant but rainfall is higher with the heaviest falls between Jan & Feb. Temperatures here during the dry season are surprisingly cold
