GUATEMALA TRANSIT VISAS:

Transit visas for Guatemala are required by all except those as noted above and those continuing their journey to a third country by the same or first connecting aircraft within 8 hours provided holding confirmed onward reservations & not leaving the airport transit lounge

GUATEMALA HEALTH:

Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas. Infants under 1 year are exempt.

Recommended immunisations: Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, TB, Tetanus & Typhoid.

Risks: Malaria exists all year below 1,500 metres. There is high risk in the Departments of Alta Verapaz, Baja Verapaz, Peten & San Marcos & moderate risks in the departments of Escuintla, Huehuetenango, Izabal, Quiche, Retalhuleu, Suchitepéquez & Zacapa. Rabies.

The north has a hot, tropical climate with rain distributed throughout the year with a wetter period between May-Oct. The west and south is mountainous and has moderate rainfall and a distinct dry season between Nov-Apr. The Pacific coast has occasional squalls, although rainfall tends to be heavier and temperatures higher during the day
