FALKLAND ISLANDS TRANSIT VISAS:

Transit visas for the Falkland Islands are required by all except those as noted above and those continuing their journey by the same of first connecting aircraft within 24 hours without leaving the airport.

Visitors must also have proof of comprehensive travel insurance, inclusive of aero-medical evacutation;

All departing land-based visitors must pay a £22 departure tax in cash at Mount Pleasant International airport. ATMs are not available, so visitors are advised to carry cash and can pay in Falkland pounds, pounds Sterling or US dollars.

Mount Pleasant International airport code is MPN, this should be used when searching for available LAN flights.

FALKLAND ISLANDS HEALTH:

A reciprocal health agreement for medical treatment exists with the United Kingdom. In order to obtain treatment some proof of United Kingdom residence such as NHS medical card or driving licence will be required.

There are currently no compulsory vaccinations required.

Recommended immunisations: Tetanus & Polio. Yellow fever certificate recommended in case of aircraft being diverted (Royal Air Force flights only).
