ECUADOR HEALTH:

Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas. All infants under 1 year are exempt.

Recommended immunisations: Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, TB, Tetanus, Typhoid & Yellow Fever.

Risks: Malaria risk exists throughout the year below 1,500 metres with some risk in Cotopaxi, Loja & Los Rios. Higher risk is found in El Oro, Esmeraldas & Manabi. There is no risk in Guayaquil or Quito. Rabies.

ECUADOR WEATHER:

The climate on the coastal plains is warm with temperatures between 25°-31°. There are two seasons, a rainy one and a dry one. The rainy season is warm from Dec to May. The dry season runs from Jun to Nov. The climate of the mountainous area varies according to the altitude. During the year, a sub-tropical climate prevails in the Andean valleys & at higher altitudes it is milder. In urban areas the average temperature ranges from between 13°-18°. The Amazon region has a warm and rainy climate. The average temperature varies between 23°-26°. This region has a dry season for a period of 3 months. The climate of Galapagos is dry and mild with temperatures from 22°-32°
