VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Uganda, for stays up to 6 months to Bahamas & Malta, Angola, Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Burundi, Comoros, Cyprus, Eritrea, Fiji, Gambia, Grenada, Ireland Rep, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Rwanda, St. Vincent & Grenadines, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Vanuatu, Zambia & Zimbabwe.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except those as noted above and persons continuing their journey to another country by the same or first connecting aircraft provided holding confirmed tickets and documents for onward travel and do not leave the airport.
All visitors must hold onward/return tickets, documents required for next destination & sufficient funds for length of stay.
HEALTH: Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from endemic areas. Infants under 1 year are exempt.
Recommended immunisations: Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Meningitis, Polio, TB, Tetanus, Typhoid & Yellow Fever.
Risks: Malaria exists all year throughout the country including the main towns of Fort Portal, Jinja, Kampala, Mbale and parts of Kigezi. Rabies.
WEATHER: Warm throughout the year although nights and areas at higher altitudes can be cool. There are two main rainy seasons from Mar-May and Sep-Nov although this tends to merge into one long season in the north of the country. The dry seasons are between Dec-Feb and Jun-Aug with the north of the country substantially drier than the south.
