VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: for stays up to 30 days (not extendable), provided holding a passport valid for at least 6 months, confirmed return ticket or ticket & visa/documentation for next destination, confirmed seat reservation for departure & no criminal record, applicable to holders of British passports endorsed `British Citizen', Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland Rep, Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland & United States.

Nationals of Czech Rep, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia & holders of United States passports with validity less than 6 months, may obtain Landing Visas valid for 30 days (not extendable) on arrival (fee payable) at Chiang Kai Shek International Airport or Kaohsiung International Airport, provided holding a passport valid for at least 6 months, two passport size photos, a confirmed return ticket or ticket & visa for next destination, a confirmed seat reservation for departure & no criminal record.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except persons continuing their journey to a third country by the same or first connecting aircraft on the same day without leaving the transit area, provided holding confirmed onward tickets & documentation.
HEALTH: Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas.
Recommended immunisations: Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Japanese B Encephalitis, TB, Tetanus & Typhoid.
WEATHER: The rainy season in May-Jun marks the beginning of summer. Summers from May-Sep are hot and humid. Winters, from Dec-Feb, are short and mild with some snow falling only on the island's higher mountains.

All passports must be valid for six months.
