VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Netherlands, for stays of up to 3 months to holders of British passports being `Citizen of the United Kingdom' ( If passport is endorsed `British Dependent Territories Citizen' or `British Nationals Overseas' the passport must also bear the endorsement `holder is entitled to readmission into the UK' or proof of readmission to the country of passport issuance) & nationals of Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Rep, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland Rep, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States, Uruguay, Vatican City & Venezuela.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by nationals of Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Colombia, Congo Dem Rep, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan & Syria, however this does not apply if the above mentioned nationals hold a residence permit (indefinite stay or certificate of entitlement to the Right of Abode) for the United Kingdom or one of the following EEA countries; Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Republic of, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain & Sweden. It will also not apply if holding a temporary residence permit for Canada or the United States of America (Green Card), residence permits (which must be valid on departure date from the Netherlands) or a confirmed onward flight ticket providing the traveller does not leave airport transit lounge.
All visitors must hold onward/return tickets, documents required for next destination & sufficient funds for length of stay, except nationals of: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland Rep, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Canada & Japan. New Zealand & United States are required to have sufficient funds for length of stay only.
Members of the Schengen Visa Agreement should make enquiries prior to travel with the appropriate Embassies of the countries within the agreement which they plan to visit.
HEALTH: Participants of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC scheme) which allows visitors on short-term stays to other member countries to use the public health care sector for free or reduced-cost medical treatment and emergency care.
There are currently no compulsory vaccinations required.
Recommended immunisations: Tetanus & Polio.
WEATHER: Winters can be cold to mild and summers fine to hot. Rainfall is well distributed throughout the year but there are usually fewer rainy days in the summer. Gales are quite common in autumn and winter.
