VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Monaco, for stays of up to 90 days to British subjects being `Citizen of the United Kingdom & Colonies' except those holding passports issued in Hong Kong or if holder is subject to control under the Commonwealth Immigration Act, Andorra, Austria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Rep, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary (max stay 1 month), Iceland, Ireland Rep, Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States, Vatican City & refugees originating from Czech Rep, Hungary, Poland & Slovakia.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except Persons in direct transit by air without leaving the airport (except nationals of Albania, Angola, Bangladesh, Congo Dem Rep, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia & Sri Lanka).
A transit visa, valid for 3 days, including the day of arrival, is issued by French Consulates abroad prior to departure to persons in transit for more than 4 hours provided holding a valid documents for France plus onward or return tickets to leave France within 3 days. It is however advisable to obtain such visas prior to arrival.
All visitors must hold onward/return tickets, sufficient funds for length of stay & additional requirements as follows (except nationals of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland Rep, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden & United Kingdom): for tourist visits holding documents showing tour arrangements & hotel reservations & for family visits holding a lodging certificate signed by the relative to be visited indicating relationship, occupation, employer & undertaking to provide means of support & certificate of board & lodging issued by the local town hall of the relative's town of residence.
HEALTH: There are currently no compulsory vaccinations required.
Recommended immunisations: Tetanus & Polio.
WEATHER: Hot summers, with a three month period when rain rarely falls. Winters are usually mild and sunny.
