VISAS: Visas are required by all nationals except citizens of Mauritius, including the spouse of a citizen of Mauritius & persons who are residents of Mauritius under the Immigration Act.
Visas are issued on arrival to the following nationals: United Kingdom (including dependent territories) & nationals of Antigua & Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Botswana, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Dominica, Finland, France, Gambia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland Rep, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Kiribati, Kuwait, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Monaco, Namibia, Nauru, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Portugal, Qatar, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & Grenadines, Samoa, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United States, Vanuatu, Vatican City, Zambia & Zimbabwe. For stays up to 3 months to nationals of Argentina, Brazil, Chile & Paraguay. For stays up to 14 days to nationals of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Comoros, Fiji, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Madagascar, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine & Uzbekistan. For stays up to 16 days to nationals of Korea (South).
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except persons continuing their journey to a third country within 72 hours.
All visitors must hold onward/return tickets, documents required for next destination & sufficient funds for length of stay.
HEALTH: Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas. Infants under 1 year are exempt. The countries & areas included in the endemic zones are considered infected.
Recommended immunisations: Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Polio, TB, Tetanus & Typhoid.
Risks: Malaria risk in some rural areas. There is no risk on Rodrigues Island. Rabies.
WEATHER: High temperatures and humidity all year round. Rain falls at all times of the year with the wettest period being between Jan-Mar. At that time of the year tropical cyclones are an occasional hazard with very high winds and torrential rain.
