VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Mauritania, Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo & Tunisia.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except those as noted above and persons continuing their journey to a third country by the same or first connecting aircraft within 24 hours without leaving the airport, provided holding confirmed tickets & documents for their onward journey.
HEALTH: Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate required by all. Those arriving from non-infected areas for visits of less than 14 days and infants under 1 year are exempt.
Recommended immunisations: Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Meningitis, Polio, TB, Tetanus, Typhoid & Yellow Fever.
Risks: Malaria exists all year throughout the country except in northern areas of Dakhlet-Nouadhibou and Tiris-Zemour. In Adrar and Inchiri there is malaria risk during the rainy season (Jul-Oct). Rabies.
WEATHER: Hot and dry throughout the year. The south has unreliable rainfall which is most likely to occur between Jun-Oct which is also the most humid period. The north is practically rainless with only a few rare downpours which can happen at any time.
