VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Mali, for stays of up to 3 months to nationals of Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde Islands, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo & Tunisia.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except those as noted above and persons continuing their journey to a third country by the same or first connecting aircraft within 24 hours without leaving the airport, provided holding confirmed tickets & documents for their onward journey.
There is no transit accommodation available at the airport therefore it is advisable to obtain a transit visa.
HEALTH: Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate required by all. Infants under 1 year are exempt.
Recommended immunisations: Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Meningitis, Polio, TB, Tetanus, Typhoid &, Yellow Fever.
Risks: Malaria exists all year throughout the country. Rabies.
WEATHER: Rainfall decreases northwards where it reaches the Sahara where it is virtually non existent. In the south the rainy seasons are between May-Sep and Jul-Aug. The dry season between Nov-Mar is hot and sunny. Temperatures are highest between Mar-May. The north has a typical Saharan climate with a very hot and dry period between May-Sep with irregular rainfall.
