VISAS: Visas are required by all nationals.
Visas are issued on arrival at Male International Airport, free of charge, to all nationalities provided they are in possession of onward/return tickets, documents required for next destination & sufficient funds for length of stay. Visas are valid for 30 days, but can be extended for 3 months.
HEALTH: Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas.
Recommended immunisations: Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Polio, TB, Tetanus & Typhoid.
Risks: Rabies.
WEATHER: Rainfall during South West Monsoon and high temperatures throughout the year. The high season between Nov-end Apr is hot and dry with occasional showers and calm seas. The low season between May-end Oct has rougher seas and high humidity. Showers tend to be short and sharp and as the islands are small, rain passes over quickly.
