Visas for Malaysia

VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Malaysia, holders of British passports ( irrespective of endorsement in passport regarding their national status), for stays of up to 3 months to Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Rep, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland Republic, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Korea (South), Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, United States, Uruguay, Yemen, for stays of up to 1 month to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Barbados, Belarus, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Gabon, Georgia, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong (S.A.R. passport holders), Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Korea (North), Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Macao (S.A.R. passport holders), Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Sao Tome & Principe, Singapore, Slovenia, Sudan, Surinam, Tajikistan, Thailand, Togo, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vatican City, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zaire, Zimbabwe, holders of British National Overseas (BNO) passports, for stays of up to 15 days to Iran, for stays of up to 14 days to Chad, Comoros, Guinea, Iraq, Libya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Syria,  holders of Macao Travel Permit & holders of Portuguese Alien Passport.
Tourist passes are now available on arrival for stays of up to 15 days to nationals of Iraq & for stays of up to 1 month to nationals of Zambia & Zimbabwe.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except persons continuing their journey to a third country by the same aircraft without leaving the airport.
All visitors must hold return tickets to another destination & sufficient funds for length of stay (bank statement showing minimum credit of £600 required).
HEALTH: Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving within 6 days from endemic areas. The countries & areas included in the endemic zones are considered infected.  Infants under 1 year are exempt.
Recommended immunisations: Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Japanese B Encephalitis, Malaria, TB, Tetanus & Typhoid.
Risks: Malaria risk exists only in limited concentrations in the deep interior. Urban and coastal areas are free from malaria. Rabies.
WEATHER: Hot and humid throughout the year with plenty of sunshine and temperatures ranging from 21-32°C. The annual rainfall is between 2,000mm to 2,500mm. The rainy seasons are Aug-Sep along the West Coast of Peninsula of Malaysia and Oct-Feb on the Peninsula's East Coast and East Malaysia.
