The northern frontier area and lower inland plateaux have very low rainfall and high temperatures all year round. The highlands in the centre and west of the country have two rainy seasons. The sunniest period is between Dec-Mar and the cloudiest, often with drizzle between late March and early June. July and August are the coolest months.
