VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Indonesia holding a valid passport issued by the Republic of Indonesia, for tourist visits up to 30 days (not extendable), provided holding onward/return tickets & entry/exit from certain airports & seaports (full list obtainable from Indonesian Embassy), Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Hong Kong (S.A.R. passport holders), Macao (S.A.R. passport holders), Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam. Nationals of certain countries can obtain a visa on arrival (contact nearest embassy/consulate for information). TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except persons continuing their journey to a third country within 8 hours by the same or first aircraft without leaving the airport, provided holding confirmed tickets & documentation for their next destination. HEALTH: Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas. Recommended immunisations: Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Japanese B Encephalitis, Malaria, Polio, TB, Tetanus & Typhoid. Risks: Malaria exists all year throughout the country except in Jakarta Municipality, big cities and the main tourist resorts of Java and Bali. Rabies. WEATHER: The east monsoon between Jun-Sep brings dry weather while the west monsoon between Dec-Mar brings rain. Temperatures are high throughout the year with little change. Heaviest rainfalls recorded are between Dec-Mar. Humidity is between 60% and 95%. All passports must be valid for six months.
Although a visa is required, if your stay is less than 30 days, you can obtain at most borders on arrival. If your stay is more than 30 days then you need to get a visa in advance. The visa will take 3 to 5 working days in the embassy to issue and is valid for 3 months
