VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Guyana, British subjects being `Citizen of the United Kingdom & Colonies', Antigua & Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Canada, Denmark, Dominica, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Grenada, Ireland Rep, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea (North), Korea (South), Luxembourg, Montserrat, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & Grenadines, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago & United States.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except those as noted above and persons continuing their journey by the same or first connecting aircraft within 7 hours without leaving the airport.
All visitors must hold onward/return tickets, documents required for next destination & sufficient funds for length of stay
HEALTH: Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas.
Recommended immunisations: Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, TB, Tetanus, Typhoid & Yellow Fever.
Risks: Malaria risk is high all year in all parts of the interior, sporadic cases have been reported from the densely populated coastal belt. Rabies.
WEATHER: The lowlands have an equatorial type climate which is hot, wet & can be oppressive as there is little change from day to day. Inland rainfall and temperatures are lower. The periods of most rainfall are between May-Jul & Nov-Jan.
