Visas for Greece

VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Greece, for stays up to 3 months to holders of British passports with `United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland' or `Jersey' or `Guernsey and its Dependencies' or `Isle of Man' on the front cover in which holder is described as `British Subject, Citizen of the United Kingdom, Islands & Colonies' (However, if passport issued in Hong Kong max stay of 1 month permitted), Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Rep, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Honduras, Hong Kong (Blue and Red passports), Hungary, Iceland, Ireland Rep, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States, Uruguay, Vatican City & Venezuela.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except those as noted above and persons in transit by air who continue their journey within 4-5 hours and do not leave the airport or change terminals.
All visitors must hold sufficient funds for length of stay. It is also recommended that visitors hold onward/return tickets, except nationals of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland Rep, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden & United Kingdom.
Members of  the Schengen Visa Agreement should make enquiries prior to travel with the appropriate embassies of the countries within the agreement which they plan to visit.
Registration within 48 hours at the Aliens Department is required for nationals of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Korea (North), Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan & Vietnam & those passengers travelling with a Schengen Visa.
HEALTH: Participants of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC scheme) which allows visitors on short-term stays to other member countries to use the public health care sector for free or reduced-cost medical treatment and emergency care.
Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas.  Infants under 6 months are exempt.
Recommended immunisations: Tetanus & Polio. Long-term visitors should also consider hepatitis A.
WEATHER: Summers are hot with a distinct three month dry period. The wettest season is in winter when it is mild although cold spells can occur. Snow in winter in the mountain regions is frequent and not uncommon elsewhere although rare on the islands. Spring and autumn are short seasons with changeable weather.
