VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Gambia, for stays up to 3 months to British subjects being `Citizen of the United Kingdom & Colonies', Australia, Belgium, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iceland, India, Ireland Rep, Italy, Kenya, Liberia, Luxembourg, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Netherlands, New Zealand, Niger, Nigeria, Norway, San Marino, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sweden, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Zambia, Sri Lanka holding a Clearance Certificate issued by the Ministry of Interior in country of origin & Lebanon, Liberia & Sierra Leone holding a clearance to enter or transit the Gambia issued by the Director of Immigration in Banjul.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except those as noted above and persons in direct transit (except nationals of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, Czech Rep, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Korea (North), Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan & Vietnam who must obtain a visa).
All visitors must hold onward/return tickets & documents required for next destination.
HEALTH: Compulsory vaccinations: Yellow fever certificate if arriving from endemic or infected areas. Infants under 1 year are exempt.
Recommended immunisations: Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Meningitis, Polio, TB, Tetanus, Typhoid & Yellow Fever.
Risks: Malaria exists all year throughout the country. Rabies.
WEATHER: Sub-tropical climate with dry and rainy seasons. From mid Nov-mid May coastal areas are dry while the rainy season lasts from Jun-Oct. Inland the cool season is shorter and temperatures during the day are high between Mar-Jun.
