VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Central African Rep, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Congo Dem Rep, Cote d'Ivoire, Greece, Liberia, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal & holders of a re-entry permit.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except those as noted above and persons continuing their journey to a third country by the same aircraft.
HEALTH: ( Compulsory vaccinations:) Yellow fever certificate required by all. It is also recommended that travellers making 3 or more visits per year, stays of more than 3 months in a rural area, high-risk occupational groups & backpackers staying more than 1 month have the following up to date immunisations: Diphtheria, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, malaria, meningitis, polio, TB, tetanus & typhoid.
Malaria exists all year throughout the country.
WEATHER: Temperatures are hot all year particularly in the northeast where there is a single, modest rainy season between May-Sep. Further south the climate becomes wetter with rain at any time though there is a wetter period between Jul-Oct. The dry season is between Dec-Feb.
