VISAS FOR BELIZE

VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Belize, for tourist stays up to 30 days by British subjects being `Citizen of the United Kingdom & Colonies', citizens of Antigua & Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Botswana, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominica, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Gambia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland Rep, Italy, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Latvia, Lesotho, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Montserrat, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & Grenadines, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Spain, Suriname, Swaziland, Sweden, Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Tuvalu, Uganda, United States, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Zambia & Zimbabwe.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except those as noted above and persons continuing their journey to a third country by the same aircraft & not leaving the airport, provided holding confirmed tickets & documentation (except nationals of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine & Uzbekistan)
All visitors must hold onward/return tickets & sufficient funds for length of stay (visitors are required to hold specific amounts of currency per day of stay, contact nearest embassy/consulate for details).
HEALTH: (Compulsory vaccinations:) Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas.It is also recommended that travellers making 3 or more visits per year, stays of more than 3 months in a rural area, high-risk occupational groups & backpackers staying more than 1 month have the following up to date immunisations: Diphtheria, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, malaria, TB, tetanus & typhoid. Malaria exists in all districts but varies within regions. Risk is highest in western and southern regions.

WEATHER: Conditions are hot all year, although strong Caribbean winds can counterbalance the humidity on the coast. The wettest period between Jun-Dec often includes heavy downpours which can also be accompanied by tropical storms or hurricanes. There is a drier period between Jan-Apr & Aug but coastal areas are subject to rain at any time.
