VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia & United Arab Emirates. Tourist visas valid for stays up to 2 weeks can be obtained on arrival at Bahrain International Airport issued to nationals of: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland Rep, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom & United States.
TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except those as noted above and Persons either in transit by the same service or persons holding confirmed onward reservations within 24 hours, provided they do not leave the airport. Transit visas valid for 24 hours are available on arrival if transitting more than 8 hours (except nationals of Iran, Iraq & Vietnam). Transit visas valid for 72 hours are available on arrival provided holding confirmed onward/return tickets & documentation (except nationals of Iran, Iraq & Vietnam). A letter of recommendation is required by the following, who should apply for a visa prior to arrival: Nationals of Algeria, Comoros, Dijibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates & Yemen who are not visa exempt,nationals of Asian countries (except Japan)& nationals of African countries.
HEALTH: There are no compulsory immunisations in place, however, it is recommended that travellers making 3 or more visits per year, stays of more than 3 months in a rural area, high-risk occupational groups & backpackers staying more than 1 month have up to date immunisations for Diphtheria, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, polio, TB, tetanus & typhoid.
WEATHER: Summer months are very hot. Care should be taken as heat exhaustion can be a problem. Winter months are more pleasant, although evenings can be chilly. Rainfall is low & mainly falls between Nov-Mar.

All passports must be valid for six months.
