TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except persons continuing their journey to a third country within 3 days, provided holding valid documents & tickets for onward destination (except nationals of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, China, Cuba, Czech Rep, Dominican Rep, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Korea (North), Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan & Vietnam) & persons continuing their journey on the same day without leaving the airport, provided holding confirmed onward/return tickets & documentation (except nationals of Haiti & Morocco).
All visitors must hold onward/return tickets, documents required for next destination & sufficient funds for their length of stay
HEALTH: (Compulsory vaccinations:) Yellow fever certificate if arriving from infected areas. Recommended immunisations for travellers making 3 or more visits per year, stays of more than 3 months in a rural area, high-risk occupational groups & backpackers staying more than 1 month: Diphtheria, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, TB, tetanus, typhoid.
All passports must be valid for six months.
WEATHER: The Bahamas are the northern most islands in the Caribbean. Summers are hot, winters mild, although the northern most islands, (including Nassau) can be affected by cold north american air. Rain falls throughout the year with the wettest period between May-Oct. Hurricanes can strike between Jun-Nov.
