ARMENIA VISAS: The following nationals DO NOT require a visa:
Armenia & holders of passports issued by Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine & Uzbekistan.
ARMENIA TRANSIT VISAS: Required by all except those as noted above and persons continuing their journey to a third country within 72 hours, provided not leaving the airport transit area & holding confirmed onward travel & documentation.
Transit visas are obtainable on arrival for stays up to 3 days, provided holding documentation (including visas) for final destination (except nationals of Bangladesh, India, Iraq & Pakistan who require prior permission)
ARMENIA HEALTH: A reciprocal health agreement for medical or hospital treatment exists with the United Kingdom. In order to obtain treatment some proof of United Kingdom residence such as a UK passport is required. Further details are available from www.dh.gov.uk
Although there are no compulsory immunisastions it is recommended that travellers making 3 or more visits per year, stays of more than 3 months in a rural area, high-risk occupational groups & backpackers staying more than 1 month have up to date immunisations for Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, TB, Tetanus, Tick-borne encephalitis & Typhoid.
Malaria is a risk from Jun-Oct in some villages in Ararat Valley, mainly in the Masis district. No risk in tourist areas.
ARMENIA WEATHER: Summers are bright, sunny & hot, although summer evenings can be chilly. Winters are generally severe with heavy snowfalls. Rainfall is fairly evenly spread throughout the year although there is a drier period between Jun-Sep.
